A Miracle Tube of the Tyre

It was raining. The road was slippery.Automobiles were crawling like tortoise. Nineteenth Century buses were farting black smoke and honking arrhythmically. Motorcyclists were craning their heads like geese in the lake and overtaking every kind of vehicles. Beep...beep...beep...beep. I was among them. I could see grumpy faced people in the bus or, the car looking at me as if I was the one who caused the whole lot of problem to their journey. I was just one amongest other motorcyclists and let the system run. That was the best practice we fashioned while driving in the town or the countryside; well, we all, you and I.

It was 12:30 PM. The first Saturday of May, 2012. I was going to Hetauda from Kathmandu on my Bike. There was a heavy traffic in Dakshinkali road because it was a Saturday and many people were returning to Kathmandu from Dakshinkali temple. Some of them were in their personal cars, taxies and others were in the public buses. The motorcyclists were just like leeches in the high-hill damp grasses. In fact, it was a complete chaos.

Beeping and dragging through narrow gap between two lanes of the broken, mud-gravy bumper road, I finally arrived at Dakhchhinkali. As I just crossed the holy river of Dakshinkali, I saw a girl waving her hand from the road side. I slower the speed the pulled over. I quickly scanned her from head to toe, soldier to soldier if I could recognize her. She was definitely in her late teens, wearing green and white spotted Kurtha, had a shy demeanour but bold enough to ask ride in her subdued voice. Her soldier length hair was  partly colored gold and dishevelled. A gray backpack was swelled like a pregnant belly on the last stage although it was dangled on  the back.
"Can you please give me a ride to Deurali. I have been waiting for Sumo but they all came full. There is a bus coming at 4.00PM, but I have to go early, " she finished all in a single sentence.
Her eyes were round and wide. Two islands were visible in the ocean of  youth.
" Roads are slippery and its raining too. I think It's good to wait another Sumo," I replied in a dilemma.
I could sense a debate between brain and body. I moved my backpack to the front and ask her to mount onto the back seat. She put her hand on my soldier and placed her bum shaking back and forth. I asked her to move closer and hold me firmly so that I could balance the bike. I did not have other motive besides driving safely. She soon put her both hands on my solder. Hot garlicky air hit my nose. An electric sensation ran through me as she rested her youth on my back.
" Do you go to school", I asked.
"No", she sound like giggling.
"Did you come to worship here".
"No, I came to visit sister. She lives at Dakshinkali."
" Why didn't wait Sumo at the bazaar? You might get Sumo from there."
" I just walked because while standing at the bazaar so may people were gazing at me. I felt uncomfortable."
When I arrived at the summit of the hill, she asked me to stop for a few minutes. It was still raining. She was socked and the outer layer of clothes were shaping the inner garments. As I stopped the bike on the side of the road, she dismounted and ran into the bush. I assumed that she went for pee. Then I walked the other side of the road, hide behind a tree and peed. Then I came back to the bike and looked around, but could not she her. I thought she  was still taking a shit in the bush. I waited more than 20 minutes, however she never returned. With a hesitation, I walked into the bush where she was heading, looked around but could not see her. There was a narrow long strroad leading to the small village. I had a sense of being cheated. She told me that she was going to Deurali and it was not even a half way through. Why did she lie me? Why she ran away with out telling me that she was going away and would not return?
I hold my backpack and mounted on the bike. As I started the engine, two sketchy guys stopped by my side.
" Did you see a girl on the way?" one of them asked putting his hat backward.
I quickly assessed the  situation and sensed something fishy.
"No".
They looked each other and drove down the hill towards Pharping. I drove ahead slowly.

As I was moving ahead dangling left and right, I felt the wheels stuck in the mud. I thought it was the rear tire which was flat because I had put a patch on it before. I sensed something danger while moving ahead. One guy who was just ahead of me pulled over his bike and let me go ahead looking at me strangely. It made my head rubble for a while. In the mean time I felt my bike wiggle
d than before. I pulled over and parked on the edge of the road. This time the front tire was flat.

I was standstill. I looked at the passerby and so did they. I was confused what to do. There was no workshop nearby. In front of me the road was steep and dangerous. There was a workshop at Sisneri, but it was about 15 kilometer far. If I returned, I would go to Pharping which was 5 K.M far. It was mid Chhaimale villege and I had no idea about workshop in that area. Wherever I would go, I had to replace the tube because I could not push the bike up to the workshop and riding on would not be a safe and also could case more damage to the wheel. I checked the wallet and found only three hundred rupee. In that area, tube replacement might cost at least 500. I phoned my wife and told about the situation. New alternatives bubbled in the head,  “Why not to borrow some money fromthe driver of "Hamro Sumo" since I knew most of the drivers” …“‘No’ it would be embarrassing.”  I remembered a line from the poem I read two days before, “stop thinking and end your problem…problem is the seed of solution.” I decided to return to Farping ( Dakhchhinkali) where I could change tube and also took some money from ATM.

On the way to  Pharping, around 3 KM’s distant, I found a mechanic who could paste puncture stickers over the hole on the tube. “I wished I had more money.”  “if only I had a friend,” and so on. He carried a tool bag and a lifting wooden log. On the side of the road, he started his work. As he removed the tyre from the wheel, he took out the tube like an intestine from the goat’s belly. Then he inflated it with a hand pump. He took out his tongue and put it close to the tube.
“Here it is”, he grinned at me with the foolscap of his yellow teeth. He rubbed over the leak and pasted puncture tube over it. Again he inflated the tube and observed it with his very sensitive tongue. “Here too”, he gathered the skin of his forehead where stood a whole tree.
He observed more and discovered more holes. I asked him to change the tube without asking the cost. He informed me that it cost more. I asked, “How much it costs?” “Do you have five hundred?” he looked at me as if I was a criminal just escaped from the jail. I became polite more than necessary and told him that I had just three hundred. I also told him that I could pay him on the next Friday if he favoured me. He shook his head for “NO”. “Then paste more tubes and make it run please. Otherwise, I have to go Kathmandu to bring money”, I pleaded him. But my will power was telling me, “calm down, all will be well”.
Then, the mechanic man, a middle aged stout man in his rags, asked me to bring a tube from the thrash nearby. There were many tubes thrown in the rubbish. I looked around and quickly picked up one and gave him. There were already pasted tubes over it. Then he went himself mumbling. He took one of them and inflated. He examined it minutely. He said something but I couldn’t catch quietly. He moved to the water drum and dipped it. As he returned from there, I could notice an unusual glow in his face. “ Do you have 500?”, he asked me again. “I told you already ‘Hajur’I just have three hundred.” This is a new tube which I kept there this morning by mistake”, he said. I understood the situation. I didn’t speak a word for a while. He put the tube in the tyre and inflated it. Then, he fixed it on the bike.  “When will you come?”  He asked. He was also telling me that some Madhesis had betrayed him earlier. I understood his intention that he was taking the tyre from the thrash and selling me in a full price. I couldn’t say anything because I didn’t have any other options. Surprisingly, the tube was alright.

After he made the tyre ready, I handed him three hundred and asked him to return 50 rupees; so that I could pay road taxes on the way. He returned me 50 and asked my phone no. When I told him the number, he took a piece of stone and rubbed it over another flat stone making shapes of my mobile number. I offered the lip-service with sugarcoated words and moved on my way. I checked the wheel twice in a very short distance to know whether it had a flat.
Then I headed towards Sisneri. There were people gathered in one of the hotels. I pulled over and craned my neck screening the mass. I was shocked seeing one of the girl in the police handcuffs. Three Police officers were on the scene and around 50 onlookers. It did not take me long to recognize the girl who just an hour before was on my back seat.
I asked some of the onlookers if they knew the reason why she was being arrested. Everyone was beating around the bush, but nobody knew the truth.
Dark cloud was hovering in the sky and could still hear the thunderstorm.
I put the raincoat back on and continued driving. The image of the innocent looked girl occupied the mind like a shadow. The girl whom I first saw as a school girl, innocent and the most beautiful, now turned to be some ugly frightening image.
"Did she break in someone's house?, Did she commit a murder,or she is a drug dealer?"
Those questions keep bugging mind. I never found the answer. A huge rock rolled down to the river right from my nose. I stopped and looked up the hill where mud was still sliding. I quickly accelerated and crossed the landslide.
I stopped at the a hotel in Kulekhani.
There was none. I felt mixed emotions; happy and sad till I reached home at 6 p.m. It was the first time I had my bike punctured on the way ‘Hetauda- Kathmandu.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Workplace Monitoring

“When I know that someone is sneaking on my private life, it sucks me”, said Dipika Hada, a senior accountant of Standard Charted Bank, Hetauda Branch. A few months ago the managing director of the bank started snooping every staffs’ computers and drawers. He said that most of his staff hangs on Facebook, twitter neglecting the work of their customers. Hence, there are conflicting views on the issue. Workplace monitoring has both merits and demerits for the staff, organization or, the working environment.

Today, there is high competition in every sector. Industries, organizations and institutions are facing hard time due to the race of competition. The workers of the organization are hired paying for their time and skill. So, they expect that every staff must be truthful towards the job. However, many of them indulge in internet surfing or online dating neglecting their job. They spend hours on Facebook, or Skype chatting with their virtual friends. As a result, the company goes down. It can be frustrating to both; the owner and the worker. If the company goes down, the workers of the company may not get their salary in time. Sometimes, the owner is compelled to shut down the organization. So, it is better to check such wastages of companies’ time by using technologies of workplace monitoring. It discourages the workers from wasting companies’ valuable time. The workers also become responsible and accountable to their job. Instead of hanging on phone or Facebook, they give whole time to the company. They focus on the needs of the costumers. The working environment becomes fair and transparent. However, there are also people who argue against of workplace monitoring.

“When I was talking with my girlfriend, my boss was listening to us at his office. It is a real hell,” said Public Relation Officer of Hetauda School of Management, Ram Pandit Khanal. According to him it’s his private affair and spying on him is a crime. When the workers feel imprisoned at the work places, they can’t work with enthusiasm. The workplace becomes an asshole. Their work becomes monotonous. Today, most of the people have virtual relationships. Many of them have virtual boy friends, or girlfriends and they want to chat at least half an hour with them. It may recharge them and, as a result, they can work with interest. If their private matter becomes public, it may hurt their self-dignity. Sometimes, it can be a threat to their career. “I don’t want to share my private matter with other staff. Their perspective towards me may change and it weakens our friendship”, says Binita Chaulagain, a senior marketing officer of Ocean Enterprises, Hetauda. Life is personal and the privacy of the life must be preserved. Sometimes disclosing the secrets may bring disaster in life. There many people who have committed suicide after their privacy being disclosed. It is just like Pandora’s Box full of evils and misfortunes. “When the campus first put cc cameras in the classrooms, I felt so nervous and my performance was a redundant” said Pradeep Thapa, a lecturer of Hetauda School of Management. “Now I am used to”, he continued blinking his right eye. These statements show that spying on the private life is a bull shit.
In my view, observing the work place activities can have more merits than demerits. I think, when we use our private rights, we shouldn’t violet social norms and values. Work place has its rules and working conditions. Once we agree to follow these rules, we must be honest toward it. When we have urgency, we can get the permission form the boss to telephone, or to send message. Hanging on Facebook, sometimes make us forget our responsibility. Besides, we have our own time at home to chat, or phone our friends. Instead of having virtual date in the office hour, we can take a leave and go for real dating with our girlfriend. In the age of capitalism, every second is money and it’s valued more than anything that sucks the company. However, secret videotaping and blackmailing the workers is a serious crime. It must be controlled. Every worker should know that they are being observed by the boss. It makes them aware and help them to save their face.
To sum up, spying on the workers in their work places may have mixed comments. It has both advantages and disadvantages to the stake holders. There are some areas where monitoring is inevitable for the benefit of the company. But, sometimes such secret monitoring may harasses workers and affects their self.

A Letter to My Parents

Dear Mom and Dad,
It has been a month since I left my beloved country. I had landed at Toronto airport on December 10th and directly went to an apartment downtown which was booked by friend Abrim. I'm afraid; life in Nepal and life in Canada are entirely different. I know that you are really worried about me and might be waiting to know about my experiences here in Canada. In this brief letter, I am going to tell you how new surroundings are like and how they are affecting me.
As you know that Canada is a cold country, the temperature of Toronto, at this moment of writing letter, is   -10 Degree Celsius. However, I am not feeling cold. Isn't this interesting? Every house has central heating system which makes the walls of the houses warm and maintains the temperature. Every buses and subways has heating system. We don't have to stay out longer than five minutes. Almost everyone has their private car which is called automobiles here. Those who don't have automobiles ride on the public buses or trains to go to their works. Everyone should have social identification number which comes in a card like ATM. This is the basic requirement to every newcomers and it makes us easier to open bank account, to do insurance, to have medical access and many more. Everything functions with system. In comparison to Canada, we have a wild democracy in Nepal where system has long been imprisoned.
People are introvert and they hardly make friends in this country. Even if they have friends, they do not entertain gossips and backbiting; either they are at home busy with their works or they are in the work places. They do not loiter on the sides of the rods or any parks like most of the Nepalese do. If they break the traffic rules, they never get chances to bargain or punch on the nose of the traffic officers. I see my friends using social security cards while riding on the buses or purchasing the goods.  I have also applied for SIN in the immigration Management Department. I think, I will receive it in a week.
Canadians respect multiculturalism. Since Canada itself is the land of immigrants, millions of people are entering into Canada every year. Life for the beginners is quite hard. Many of the new comers do the difficult jobs, like clearing the snow on the roads, washing dishes and cleaning kitchens in the hotels, carrying blocks in the construction sites etc. I haven't seen natural smile on the faces of my friends for a month.  Every time they think what to do the next. However, they have a determination to be well settled in Canada. But nobody knows what that mean. They are confused of everything. They are confused of their identity. They are confused of the culture. They are confused of language. They are like the people searching vinegar in darkness.
I have been living in a old tenement house rented by immigrants from Bulgari, Burundi, India, Pakistan etc. They all look scary. So, I haven't talk to them for a month.  There are two rooms with a small kitchen in my apartment. There are a few amenities like a second hand small cot and dinning with three chairs. Abrim’s family lives next to my room. I have bought some pieces of furniture and kitchen ingredients. Abrim had given me a blanket and bed sheets for the temporary use. It is really hard to manage the room. Everything is available in Canada. But it is not for the people like me who are seeking water in the ocean like “water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink."
The houses are made up of wood mostly in the residential areas. But buildings for commercial purposes are tall and dark. May be there is light inside where haven't been since I came here. The houses are small in the outskirts of the town, but they have many things inside the house. One of my friends said in our last meeting, “Houses in Nepal are large but only a few amenities inside; whereas houses in Canada are small but they have more amenities inside." Might be? I haven't gone inside anyone's house here, nor did I in Nepal.
Dad and Mom, I have been searching a job for a fortnight. Some of the friends assured me the job at Gas Station (petrol pump) but I denied first. I thought I could get some good jobs. But I have realized that finding the jobs according to our expectation is a far cry. Soon I will join any kind of job which at least pays me a few dollars to pay skyrocketing house rent and buy a loaf of bread for my churning stomach. I am also planning to join University for Canadian model of education.
At last, I am confident and determined to be SETTLED in Canada. Let’s see how it will sound to be well settled. Take care of your health and diet. Don't forget to have medical checkup in time. I will keep on writing in the days to come.
Love you.

Where is God?

OMG is a fictional Hindi movie made on the issue of the existence of God. Does God really exist? What is the real existence of God? Can priests of the temple, church and mosque really know where the God lives? Can they communicate with god? Millions of people offer holy food, money and jewelry in the name of God. Where all these things go? Wastage? Why beggars, tramps and hungry street children can’t enter the temple? Millions of people offer milk to the god. Does god drink litters of milk? If not, why we are wasting such things in the name of God? Is it not a good idea to distribute to the poor instead of wasting the things? John Milton has written, “God’s state is kingly…He doesn’t’ need man’s day labor”. God has everything. If he created the world, he is also the provider. Then, we are mocking at the god offering some coins or food items.
There are people who are running their business in the name of god. They build a temple, put some statues and spread a fear in the name of god. Due to fear, people go to the temple, offer money, fruits and valuable ornaments. There are several names of God. And those who run this business created the demand of God; so that they can run their business smoothly. These days we can see many demi gods in the market. They appear in the form of Sadhu Baba and give speech collecting poor, sick, and failures. Then they give them a false hope that God will do everything for them. Hope is only thing that inspires us to live. According to the Greek myth God has created a beautiful girl named Pandora out of clay and sent to this earth with a box of evils, disease, hunger, war and death. But there was also hope. When Pandora opened it everything came out of it one by one. She was scared looking these evils. So, she locked it immediately and fortunately Hope remained inside. This is the only his which inspires for survival. But by taking the advantage of this Hope, so called religious mongers are robbing people.
In the film, Kanji Bhai doesn’t believe in God. Once, his home gets destroyed in earthquake. Everybody say that it is the god’s act. He goes to the insurance company in order to claim the loss. But the company refuses to pay saying that it is the god’s act and he had signed on the paper where it is clearly written, “the company will not be responsible to the loss of property due to the act of god.” Then he goes to the temple and ask the compensation from the God’ chosen people, the priests. When they also refuse to settle the problem, he decides to case against the God in the court. But nobody wants to take the case. Finally, according to the constitutional right, he handles his case himself and gets it registered in the high court.
The opposition party asks him to show written proof to defend his case. There he raises the questions about the existence of God and also gives examples to the people there how these people run their illegal business in the name of God. As soon as he comes out, he gets surrounded by the supporters of the priests ‘gang. With the help of security he becomes able to escape from there. On the way there appears an stranger ( Akshay Kumar) and rescues him on his motorbike. He also calls himself Krishna.
Kanji Bhai’s wife and children also leave home. He becomes alone. Next day the same stranger comes home and informs him that he has already bought the house. Then he lives with him and asks him to read the Bhagwat Gita, the Holy Bible and the Koran to get the answer of the riddles of his life. After reading these books, he appears in the court to defend his case. This time he shows the lines from all three holy books where it is written that the goes has created the world and he will destroy it. With his logic, everyone who was there agreed. But he becomes sick all of a sudden and soon hospitalized. The doctors say that they can’t do anything. It’s all upon the god. As soon as the news of his death comes out, these so called priests declare him the god since he has god the sympathy of the people. They also made his temple and statues. The stranger ‘Krishna’ appears in the hospital bed of Kanji Bhai and saves his life. And he also tells him that god exists, but it is not as the people believe. God is in everyone’s heart and we must feel it. He also asks him to fight against wrong believes and superstition in the name of god. Then he goes to the public and begins his fight against of superstition and false believes.
People have doubts on the existence of God. It has created fear in the mind of the people. So, they offer many things to be protected. Roman Catholic Church robbed people in the Dark Age and against of it Protestantism born. Hindu Temples are the great source of corruption today. It needs to be reformed.

Collected Divorce Facts

Couples Who Share Housework Are More Likely To Divorce
Splitting chores could lead to divorce? According to a Norwegian study released in August 2012, the divorce rate among couples who divvy up household chores is roughly 50 percent higher than for those in which the wife handles the housework.
So does that mean couples shouldn't split the chores equally? Not necessarily. Researchers say that the higher divorce rate has more to do with "modern" values and attitudes -- such as viewing marriage as less sacred -- rather than a cause-and-effect relationship.
Divorce Could Be In A Woman's Genes
In February 2012, Swedish scientists released a study suggesting that a specific gene may explain why some women have a hard time committing, or staying committed, should they marry.
The researchers found that women who possessed a variation of the oxytocin receptor gene known as A-allele were less likely to get married due to difficulty bonding with other people. Those with the gene who did marry were 50 percent more likely to report "marital crisis or threat of divorce."
A Close Relationship With Your In-Laws May Change Your Divorce Odds
In November 2012, a 26-year longitudinal study released by the University of Michigan found that when a husband reported having a close relationship with his wife's parents, the couple's risk of divorce decreased by 20 percent. On the other hand, when a wife reported having a close relationship with her husband's parents, the couple's risk of divorce increased by 20 percent.
Why the difference? Researcher Terry Orbuch told the Wall Street Journal that she believes that many wives eventually view their in-laws' input as meddlesome, while husbands tend to take their in-laws' actions less personally.
Men Are More Likely Than Women To Turn To Drinking After A Split
A University of Cincinnati study presented in August 2012 found that men are more likely than women to turn to drinking after divorce.

"Marriage and divorce have different consequences for men's and women's alcohol use," study author Corinne Reczek told Health Day. "For men, it's tempered by being married and exacerbated by being divorced."
Additionally, the study suggested that married women drink more than their divorced or widowed friends -- partly because they lived with men who had higher levels of alcohol use.
Cold Feet Warn Of Marital Trouble Ahead
Don't ignore those pre-wedding jitters: they may warn of marital trouble ahead, according to a UCLA study published in the Journal of Family Psychology in September 2012. Researchers asked 232 newlyweds in their first marriages whether they had "ever been uncertain or hesitant about getting married" after they got engaged. The research team followed up with the couples every six months for the first four years of their marriages.
In a HuffPost blog, one of the researchers, Justin Lavner, explained that premarital doubts predicted divorce rates four years later, especially when the doubtful partner was the wife. According to Lavner, "19 percent of couples in which wives had doubts were divorced four years later, but only 8 percent of couples in which wives did not have doubts ended up divorced. Husbands' doubts did not significantly predict divorce, although divorce rates were somewhat higher among husbands with doubts (14 percent) than husbands without doubts (9 percent)."
Men Who Cheat Are More Likely To Have Heart Attacks
According to a study released in May 2012 by the University of Florence, “sudden coital death” is more common when a man is engaging in extramarital sex in an unfamiliar setting than when he's having sex with his spouse at home.
The researchers found that infidelity outside the home was associated with "a higher risk of major cardiovascular event," including fatal heart attacks.
“Extra-martial sex may be hazardous and stressful because the lover is often younger than the primary partner and probably sex occurs more often following excessive drinking and/or eating," researcher Dr. Alessandra Fisher told the Daily Mail. “It is possible that a secret sexual encounter in an unfamiliar setting may significantly increase blood pressure and heart rate, leading to increased oxygen demand.”
Moving In Before Marriage No Longer Predicts Divorce
Living together before marriage is no longer a strong predictor of divorce, according to a study released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in early 2012.
As part of a marriage survey of 22,000 men and women, researchers found that those who were engaged and living together before the wedding were about as likely to have marriages that lasted 15 years as couples who hadn't cohabited.
What about couples who moved in together but weren't engaged? The study found their marriages were less likely to survive to the 10- and 15-year mark.
Divorce Is Too Expensive For The Poorest Americans
More couples are opting for long-term marital separations because they cannot afford to divorce, according to a study conducted by Ohio State University that was published in August 2012.
Researchers surveyed 7,272 people between 1979 and 2008. Most people in the study who separated from a spouse reported getting a divorce within three years of separating. But 15 percent of people who separated did not get a divorce within the first 10 years because it was too costly, especially when children were involved.
Divorce Hurts Health More At Earlier Ages
Divorce at a younger age hurts people’s health more than divorce later in life, according to a Michigan State University study released in January 2012.
Sociologist Hui "Cathy" Liu looked at self-reported health information of 1,282 participants over the last 15 years, analyzing the difference in well-being between those who remained married over the course of the study and those who divorced. Among the divorced, Liu found that those who split at a younger age tended to have more health issues than those who divorced later in life.
Liu said the findings suggested older people have more coping skills to deal with the stress of divorce.
Women Close To Divorcing Tend To Work More Hours
In November 2012, the European Economic Review released a study that revealed women who clock an extra 12 minutes per week face a 1 percent increase in the risk of a marital breakdown.
Why? Lead researcher Berkay Ozcan, PhD, explained that working more hours is a "form of insurance" for women when their marriage is on the rocks.
The study also found that there is no strong evidence to suggest men do the same when divorce seems likely.

Amarsing Ko Khojima Amarsing Natak

"Amarsing Ko  Khojima Amarsing Natak" was performed on Natya Theatre Hetauda on 22/02/070.

This play attempts to unfold the pages of history and its significance. It was performed in an experimental way. Suspense was created in order to hook the interest of the audiences. In fact, the whole play is the preparation for the play that pre performance activities.
At first, a student appears on the stage reading a book and seeking his nation. Then there appears another student and both of them talk about the size and boarder of the country. They talk about the encroachment of India at the border and say that there may not be country like Nepal and it will be encircled in no man’s land. They burst into laughter. Then a back stage voice is heard. It asks them to watch the paly which may tell about the nation and nationality. They agree and go out.
On the second part, some characters and a director appear on the stage. The director asks the characters to set the stage and to wear appropriate dresses to perform the play. As they set the stage, they converse each other and talk about the hero of the play Amarsing ( vijay) . Other characters such as Queen ( Mina) Pradeep ( the body guard of the Queen, Queen’s helper, Ajay are on the stage. They are all seemed busy in teasing each other and being dressed up. The director reminds them their role in the forthcoming play and also asks them to be lively in their performance forgetting their self. They all are waiting the main character Vijay who is going to perform the role of Amarsing.
When Bijay is late, they all seem worried. Time is slithering and the audiences might be furious with them. They call the characters of set 5 for rehearsal before they perform the play. Characters are asked to appear on their right position. A soldier from the battlefield appears. It was the war between Angrez and Nepal. The soldier [messenger] informs that there is no way of winning the war since the enemy soldiers are all equipped with modern arms and ammunities.  He purposes a treaty. Queen appears enraged and speaks in a louder voice, “don’t talk these words to me. There will be no treaty with my enemies. You and me too, will go to the battlefield and fight with the enemies.” As soon as she completes her dialogue, the director shouts at her. In fact, she has changed the script. The script [history] is about the treaty. The queen’s body guard supports the queen [mina] and says that it was the true performance. They are not interested in performing false role of the historical characters. The Queen wants to play the role of marginal people like a labourer, hawker, or the farmer. Similarly another character wants to join the foreign army. This dissatisfaction comes due to the predicament of the actors on the theater who can’t earn bread by preforming.
Again they all are worried about the delay of the performance because Amarsing [ Vijay]  has not come yet. Bhimsen Thapa’s sacrifice is conveyed through the characters’ conversation. However they are waiting for ‘Godot’; everybody says he will come, but he doesn’t come. Again the director asks them to complete the rehearsal of set five; the same scene which some times before they performed but cancelled by the director. This time the messenger comes to the queen and purposes a treaty. But this time the queen agrees for the treaty. The director becomes happy with her performance. At the meantime, the body guard of the queen [ Pradeep] speaks sarcastically, “ right performance or the right surrender’. The director is worried about the delay of the show. He asks the characters to perform Amarsing’s role by one of them. Mina asks [Ajay?] to play his role and he is dressed up in hurry. One student is asked to perform the role of Aktorloni(?) the enemy of Amarsing. As they start to perform Vijay [ Amarsing] appears in a sad mood. But he denies performing the role of the great hero. He says that he went in search of Amarsing before performing his role but he found him nowhere. Furthermore, it would be injustice for him if he played his role since he was incomparable to him.
Then the director tells the audiences that the Great National Hero Amarsing is in the heart of every Nepalese. If we all feel this pride, we don’t have to go to live in ‘no man’s land’. But this feeling is dying in us which we all have to revitalize. With this moral the play ends before it begins.
The play raises the issues of nation and nationality. The nation is abstract feeling of the people. It can’t be protected in the form of symbols like a national flag, national bird or any other objects. It also unfolds the genealogical history and gives the characters their voice. The characters revolt on the stage for their false role. They want to be spontaneous as one of the audiences, student, is asked to perform the role of Aktorloni.
As an audience, I was waiting for the beginning of the play after the entrance of the central character Amarsing[ Vijay]. But i was stunned when I came to know that the play was ended.
This is experimental paly which gives space for audiences’ curiocity and drags them to the end by a big suspense and surprise.
