Three Days in Via Rail By Divyash Poudyal ( 9 years old boy)
It was 4 o'clock in the morning. Me and my friend were waiting for the via rail train. We had a lot of luggage with us. The arrival time of the train was 7 pm, but it was already nine-hour delayed. We were moving from Edmonton to Toronto for better weather and opportunities. Toot toot the train arrived behind us. The train staff called us in and showed us our seats. They were in the second cart. It was a very long train. The train started to move. Then it stopped. It started to move again.
Then we went to sleep. The next day we arrived at Saskatchewan It was a beautiful city with many green fields. As soon as we arrived at the station, I went to the washroom, brushed teeth and had breakfast later.
It was a sunny day. In three hours we were supposed to be in Saskatchewan. I went to the deck to see the view. It was on the basis of first come first serve. There were some elderly people and some children seating already. we waited for a few minutes to get a seat.
It was mostly prairies and fields of canola and wheat. And fields blooming with floors. Then I took my Jack and Annie's fact tracker book.
Afterwards, my friend Ryon came to the deck to play leggo. While we were playing, sometimes we used to make a sound. The people who were sitting there would look at us.
When we look back from the deck the train looked like a snake slithering into the bush. Sometimes it looks like a ship sailing in the water while crossing the lake.
Later we had lunch. it was chicken strips and chips. I headed to upstairs t play cards. Then an eagle flew straight at us. People started panicking and ran towards the stairs but the eagle flipped and flew towards the sky. We were delighted and clapped. Afterwards, we went to sleep. Meanwhile, Manitoba was on its way.
The next morning it was dark and gloomy. Clouds filled the sky. But the forecast said it was going to be sunny in the evening. I woke up and went to the cafe' cart to draw and play. I drew a lake. at 11 o'clock we crossed the border to Manitoba. We had lunch and went to the deck. The sun had come out and we saw a huge field of canola flowers. The canola field was stretching way far to the distance.
Then we saw deer running very close to the training league. We were so excited to see them running along with the train. After a while, we arrived in Lake Winnipeg. The train stopped for a while so we could go outside. I saw that we were running at the edge of Lake Winnipeg.
After a while, all of us went inside and the train continued its journey. We had dinner and played video games. Then we slept.
Next morning everything went on a normal day on a train. We eat breakfast, we went to the deck and played lego and read storybooks. We were five hours from Toronto because we had entered Ontario's border.
At nine o'clock we went upstairs to eat dinner. We played scramble till 11 am. Then we watched video games again. Though it was dark I saw a bird with a blue feather. I read that it was called a blue jay. That was the sign that we were close to Toronto.
I went to the bed eight minutes later. My mom woke me up at 4 am in the morning. I was excited to know what was going on in the middle of the night. my mom told me that we had arrived at the Toronto union station.
before we went out of the train I told my family a joke. What is blue and ends with the J. Blue Jay. I said. I was a long and fun trip to Toronto.
