Spring is so welcoming in Edmonton due to the long and cold winter season. Early Spring is almost sunny with dry weather. There are few snow showers and rains in this season. People, tired of long winter, severely cold weather, and indoor stay, jump onto the ground with bikes and kids to celebrate the weather as a festival. In Alberta, we see snow still melting in rivers and lakes. In mid spring, we can see green grass and flowers blooming. 'Early showers brings May flowers" is a popular saying among Albertan.
Sweeper trucks, broom machine show up on the streets to clean up the dust and debris from winter rock chips. We can see multiple potholes on the roads because of the snow in the winter. Pothole repair trucks work day and night to make roads safe for the crazy drivers.
National park and other local park crew start working overtime to maintain grass, clean up the winter debris and adding extra recreational activities for the visitors. Gardeners start germinating vegetable seeds in the mid spring so that they can enjoy the plantation late spring or early summer. Although Spring is little early to the campers and the fisherman, so many of them already bundled up with the camping gears and drive into the bush. There are many camp sites open on early Spring for the reservation. However, most of the comfort camping sites are booked in a couple of hours of its opening. People do not care little wind or the rain drops.
Spring season is the best one for the sun bather and strollers since the sun is not too hot yet and bugs aren't aggressive yet on your cheek. Kids like sliding, biking, bouncing, running. They do not like to stay home in the evenings. The days are longer than the winter seasons. We can enjoy mildest heat of the sun and litter chiller wind. Geese return to the prairie in the early spring. Most of the lakes turn to be colorful with Canadian geese and other small birds. Bunnies change the color to fit with the nature and honeybees zoom onto the flowers to suck the nectar. Magpie, English sparrow, sea gulls, ceder waxwing, grouse, robin were hiding and nesting in the bush.
