today i saw a bird fluttering
but cant fly
hopping with hope
some feathers
on the ground beneath his feet
with no target
no place to go
some breadcrumbs
to drag the paltry body
picks
beaks
tricks
twig twig twig
resounds some melody
deep deep deep
inside the eardrums
a tree
with broken arms
screen the heat
a blue sea
over the head
drips drips drips
attempts to fly
shrinks
rolls on the dust
eye open
no target, no tear
